| During the second week of school, we shared the book The Library Dragon by Carmen Agra Deedy. The Library Dragon is a story about a librarian who is a REAL dragon-- and won't let the students touch the books for fear they might get lost or damaged. In the end, the lovely Molly Brickmeyer wins over the dragon's heart and gets storytime reinstated at Sunrise Elementary School. The 1st grade students were excited to see we have our very own library dragon hanging up in the storytime area! After sharing the story, we discussed and did a drawing/writing activity about how to treat the library books with care, in order to keep the library dragon happy! |
